Thanks to its founder, POSCO has been actively engaged in the creation of a clean and safe working environment from the very beginning. The Pohang and Gwangyang works have their own Safety and Health Policy that undertake various programs to promote workplace safety. The POSCO Safety Program provides safety training to employees ranging from new recruits to executives.

The e-Safety System is the company intranet system which supports real-time analysis of recent injury statistics, near misses, defect detection and maintenance of dangerous machinery, risk analysis and other areas of safety management.

The Health Care Centre is equipped with facilities for diagnosis, medical examination and industrial hygiene and operates the company health care management system that integrates and comprehensively manages the health-related data of each employee.

To prevent disease and accidents and to promote fitness among employees, POSCO has various awareness programs. In addition, its medical volunteer activities enhance bonding with the community at large.
