The company has proposed the use of state-of-the-art technologies for steelmaking, which are capable of producing varieties of finished products. For Phase I, the plant will produce hot rolled coil (2.5MT) and slab (1.5MT) for marketing. Hot-rolled products are used for automobile manufacturing, construction materials, and electronic appliances. Slabs are semi-finished products which are further processed to hot rolled coil and cold rolled coil that are used for automobile manufacturing, construction materials, electronic appliances, furniture, containers, and finished materials for buildings. POSCO-India plans to determine domestic and export sale of products in accordance with the situation of the Indian domestic and the global steel market.
