POSCO-India to showcase its dream project to the world
POSCO-India to help attract more investments in India
Bhubaneswar, April 22, 2006: POSCO-India is participating in Hannover Messe, Germany, which is the world’s largest, and the leading international showplace for industrial technologies, materials and product ideas. The fair will be on from 24th to 28th of April, 2006. India, in recognition of its growing power as a preferred destination for high-end and scale-neutral manufacturing, is the partner country this year. The Chancellor of Germany and the Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh are likely to inaugurate the Fair.
POSCO-India will be exploring this fair as a platform to showcase its prestigious India project and thereby attract more investment in Orissa for the ancillary industries required for the proposed mega steel project in the state. Some of the ancillary industries would be Ship Building, Coal- Chemical, Cement, Refractory to name a few. Through the Orissa project, POSCO-India will present Orissa to the world as an attractive investment destination. Mr. Soung-Sik Cho, the Chairman cum Managing Director of POSCO-India will be representing the company at the fair.
Commenting on the occasion, Mr Cho said, “The India project is POSCO’s ‘Jewel in the crown’ and it is indeed a matter of great pride for us to present to the world this dream project. Highlighting the uniqueness of this project will help put Orissa on the fast track path to industrialization and attract more investment opportunities. We look forward to more such opportunities in the future.”
POSCO-India stall at the Orissa Pavilion of the fair will have display panels on the India project and ancillary industries. Mr Cho himself will be present to answer visitors’ queries.
