Synopsis:
POSCO expressed satisfaction on co-operation being extended by the State Govt. for the project. Mr. Soung-Sik-Cho, CMD, POSCO-India said that majority of people support the project and opposition is very common not only at Paradip but all over the world where land is being acquired for projects. A high level meeting was chaired by Mr. Ajit Tripathy, Chief Secy, GoO at the secretariat to discuss on project development.


POSCO has said that till date 200 volunteers have been engaged. The Govt. has advised company to convince the locals through door to door campaign on the project benefits and R&R package. Various Govt. officials are expected visit to site soon to prepare an action plan for maintaining law and order situation in POSCO site area.
