Synopsis: POSCO-India on Friday celebrated its first Foundation Day. To mark the occasion, the company introduced a code of conduct for its employees. Mr. Soung Sik Cho, CMD, POSCO-India said, that POSCO-India, the most prestigious of all projects outside Korea, is emerging stronger with every passing day. The progress of the project is steady and we are thankful to the people here, the State Government and the Government of India for supporting the project.
The Prospective License application was filed by the company in September 2005 and the grant for the same is expected very soon. In addition, the Committee for Coastal Regulation Zone and environmental impact assessment has decided to send its recommendation to the Central Government for construction of the captive port. The recommendation of the State Government for the company's SEZ proposal has been sent for approval by the Central Government. The company plans to kick off plant site preparation and piling work for port by April 2007. The construction of the plant is projected to begin in September, 2008 and the commissioning of the first phase is expected by end of 2010 in line with the original schedule
