Synopsis:
POSCO-India has announced a series of scholarships and grants for meritorious students of leading universities in Orissa and other parts of India to encourage research, aid higher education and promote academic collaboration between India and Korea.


The initiative, which includes various programmes on scholarships, research grants and fellowships, would be given to students from India by the POSCO TJ Park Foundation. This programme would include scholarships for around 60 students, research grants to two scholars and fellowships to five Indian students in Korea.


Of the 30 students from Orissa, 15 will be selected from Utkal University, seven from KIIT Deemed University and eight from Biju Patnaik University of Technology.


Mr. Soung-Sik Cho, CMD, POSCO-India said, “ At POSCO we believe in encouraging excellence and leadership through education. POSCO-India will provide scholarships and grants to exceptional individuals form leading Indian universities with the aim to nurture leaders and help build global knowledge ”
