Synopsis: A Working Committee has been formed in Govindpur & Dhinkia villages on 6th July to restore peace in the area. This was followed by a discussion with the anti and pro-POSCO activists of the affected villages. The anti-POSCO leaders of Govindpur & Dhinkia including the Sarpanch and Panchayat Samiti Member stayed away from the meeting. The initiative was taken after a fresh clash last week between the project supporters & opponents. During the meeting it was decided that members of the Committee would visit Govindpur village within three days and interact with people from both groups to find a solution.

SP Mr. Debadutta Singh assured that Police would provide all cooperation and assistance to restore peace in the villages. He also clarified that Police could not withdraw the cases against POSCO activists as those are pending in courts.
