CMD POSCO-India visits NALCO Smelter Plant in Angul

Bhubaneswar, September 27, 2007:

Mr. Soung Sik Cho, CMD, POSCO-India visited NALCO Smelter Plant and Captive Power Plant at Anugul on September 26, 2007. Accompanied by Mr. UB Pattnaik, Executive Director, NALCO, he visited the periphery villages of NALCO to have a first hand overview of NALCO’s on going CSR activities.

He visited the NALCO’s periphery village water supply unit at Banarpal, village road at Banda, mobile health services program and high school at Kukudang village, where he received overwhelming welcome by students of the school. He appreciated NALCO’s effort for development of people in the surrounding villages.

Mr. UB Pattanaik briefed him about the various periphery village development programs taken by the aluminum company in the field of Health, Education, road communication, water supply, environment, culture and sports.

CMD later visited all the three units of the smelter plant and the captive power plant of the company.
Mr. GW Sung, Director; Mr. YD Oh, GM; Mr. Shashanka Pattnaik, Sr. Manager (PR) accompanied CMD during the visit.
