Mr. Soung-Sik Cho, CMD of POSCO-India visited tribal school of KIIT
Bhubaneswar, July 17, 2006: Mr. Soung-Sik Cho, CMD of POSCO-India visited the tribal school of KIIT, Bhubaneswar with a number of other senior officials on July 16. The CMD and the POSCO-India team were given a tour around the school facilities by the chancellor of KIIT, Dr. A. Samanta and were briefed about the education programme for the tribal students. Mr. Cho expressed a keen interest in the education programmes as well as the facilities for the tribal students.
More than 1,500 students from 25 districts of Orissa studying in the tribal school gathered to welcome the CMD, his wife and the team of POSCO-India. The CMD addressed the students, encouraging them to excel in studies and contribute to the industrial growth in Orissa. He also hoped to have as many bright tribal students as possible from the school in POSCO-India in coming years. Mr. Cho also spoke about possible cooperation between POSCO-India and KIIT in the various field of tribal education and knowledge exchange. Establishment of an international school and Korean language class for the students at KIIT were also discussed.
