Synopsis: The socio-economic survey report for the POSCO steel project has been compiled by the Dist. Administration and would be submitted to the State Govt. and POSCO company on 4th March.
Official sources said, the survey covered 1,930 households and 2,315 betel vines including 1,085 in Govindpur village, 11 in Bhuyanpal, 300 in Polanga, 15 in Noliasahi and 904 in Nuagaon village.
The survey was started on 7 th February in seven villages of Nuagaon, Dhinkia, Gada Kujanga Panchayats and the survey was successfully completed except at Dhinkia. As many as 12 survey teams including 80 revenue officials and four platoons of police were deployed for its smooth conduct. Besides, POSCO officials led by its Director Mr. G.W. Sung and Executive Director Mr. U.B. Pattnaik and others reviewed the survey work with the Dist. Administration.
