Synopsis: The agitation against the POSCO project, which was started since the MoU was signed in June 22, 2005 in the proposed plant site, at last reached a conclusive point by the end of 2007. By organizing rallies and conventions frequently, PPSS became more powerful in the beginning of the year 2007. But when the anti-POSCO agitation preferred to follow violence path and went against the interest of the people, PPSS supporters invited trouble for themselves. Now PPSS supporters in Dhinkia are feeling helpless and United Action Committee (UAC) which was formed taking the GPs (Nuagaon, Gada Kujanga and Dhinkia) is commanding over there and advocating in favour of POSCO.

The year 2008 is crucial for POSCO as Company's ground breaking ceremony is going to be held on April 1 st this year. But opposition parties are trying to take political advantage on the POSCO issue. While, on one side UAC is putting conditions, PPSS, on the other side is adamant on ‘No to POSCO'. However, peace is returning in the plant site. Now Company’s PR office in Kujanga has been opened. UAC is holding talks with the administration and presented 17 charter demands to allow POSCO to start its work.
