Synopsis:
On Wednesday POSCO announced that it is planning to start the project work for its steel plant at Paradeep by April 2007. Mr. Soung-Sik Cho, CMD, POSCO-India said, “ The company plans to kick off site preparation and construction of piling for the port by April 2007 ” .


“ The project will be delayed because of land acquisition, mining lease and infrastructure problems ’” he said. “ However, we will be able to catch up if these problems are addressed immediately, ” he added.


On the R&R Policy, he said the company is going to be guided by the R&R Committee comprising Govt. officials and representatives of affected people.
