Synopsis: The first six patients who underwent surgery at POSCO-India’s Cleft Lip surgery camp, have left for their homes on 19th July. The camp conducted by the Company with a 13-member team of Korean specialists from Seoul National University had conducted operations, in collaboration with doctors of SCB Medical College and Hospital.
34 patients were identified from Jagatsinghpur District with the help of the Local Administration of which 23 have been operated successfully in the first phase. The rest will be operated in a phased manner by the doctors of SCB Medical College and Hospital.
Mr. Soung-Sik Cho, CMD, POSCO-India, said “Most of the patients were young children. I am very delighted to see that, all of them are recovering wonderfully. I wish them a healthier and brighter future ahead.”
The camp also served as platform for medical knowledge and cultural exchanges between the visiting team from Korea and SCB doctors. This was POSCO-India’s maiden step towards improving the health care of Jagatsinghpur residents.
