Synopsis:
On 15 th June POSCO-India announced a series of scholarships and grants for 60 meritorious students from leading Universities of Orissa and other parts of India. The company aims to encourage research, aid higher education and promote academic collaboration between India and Korea.


The initiative, which includes various programmes on scholarships, research grants and fellowships, would be given to students from India by the POSCO TJ Park Foundation. This programme would include scholarships for around 60 students, research grants to two scholars and fellowships to five Indian students in Korea.


About 50% of the total number of students will be from various reputed institutes of Orissa. Of the 30 students form Orissa, 15 will be from Utkal University, 7 from KIIT Deemed University and 8 from the Biju Patnaik University of Technology.
